Old School Cool...

Post Via amazon in Wii Games Review

No More Heroes
A brief look over the majority of other reviews really leaves me with little to add so I'll keep it short and sweet. This game has appeal for those who like Star Wars style light saber fighting, anime, wrestling moves and arcade style play that doesn't require the memorization of some precise 5+ button sequence to pull off moves.

It's a fun game that often winks at the player in its humor and retro style. Are there cons to be had? Sure there are but for those looking at this to be an epic end all be all game with the best graphics ever and gameplay to match... they're missing the point. In a gaming arena filled with titles that seek to push the limits be it on graphics, number of levels, camera angles and player endurance... No More Heroes seeks to excel by way of its simplicity and it succeeds.

The game is rated M for mature and parents should keep that in mind and not assume this to be just another happy go lucky family Wii title. Violence aside, the sexual innuendo and light profanity should be enough to keep this game played when the kids are asleep or at school. Though, if you're letting your kids play other M rated titles or watch any number of things on TV ...don't let this stop you.

Perhaps the best aspect of this game is that it further goes to show that the Wii doesn't have to be relegated to kids only or family friendly titles. Nintendo likes to play to that demographic but I hope more software developers try to broaden the scope of Wii games. While not necessarily for everyone, No More Heroes is a worthy addition to the lineup of Wii games and refreshingly different from the norm.
