Cooking Mama: Cook Off Cooking Mama is a charming collection of cooking themed minigames. The main objective of the game is to chop, cut, boil, stir, mix and cook a variety of different meals from around the world. The game can be played alone or 2 players can face off against each other. Nintendo has talked a lot about opening the Wii and DS to new audiences, Cooking Mama is undoubtedly an excellent example of the type game it takes to achieve this goal. The game is suitable for young chefs ages 6. And the game may even change or shape your kids attitude towards cooking. Contrary to popular believe Cooking Mama does NOT teach your kids, or husband, or wife how to cook, but it does introduce some of the ingredients and steps required for many different types of meals. Cooking Mama sells for $49 MSRB, which is a lot of dough for a small game that feels more like a XBLA (Xbox Live Arcade) Game in regards of size and presentation. If you don't mind the bitter price tag, you'll find Cooking Mama refreshing and enjoyable.

Super Paper Mario The cool factor of Mario flipping from 2D to 3D is innovative and lets you think outside the box.
The game is fairly simple but seems to have lots of extras for completes. Seems to be a replay factor on previous levels, since once you complete a chapter you can go back, and with your higher experience levels, you can use your new powers to explore the levels.
The game has some good puzzle solving. And so far, at the early stages hasn't been repetitive.
There are some very good touches in design. The text scrolling is a little annoying as is the repetitive sound for text scrolling, but there a few lines that bring a smile to your face. You can't skip through repetitive tasks, i.e. going on an elevator, or talking to certain characters, which becomes annoying. However, the innovation and fun factor, plus possible nostalgia for old school Mario makes the game very playable.
You should not try to compare it to Zelda, it's not even in the same league, however, for games out there right now, this would be one which will be very playable.
Might skew to younger, but any adult who played the original NES back in the eighties will get a kick. The colors are vibrant and cartoony. Probably can be solved fully without referring to a code book. Saving is intuitive and allows you to make backup copies, so you can ensure you won't get stuck. (However, I doubt that you could ever place yourself in a situation where you couldn't finish, since you can always go back to homeworld and easily rack up points to ensure you can continue.) If the game in parts would move faster, (without text scrolling) it would be infinitely better, but still enjoyable in its current iteration.

Super Paper Mario I bought a Wii for my son who is 6 a couple of months ago and have been enjoying it almost as much as he does. The only problem I've had at my house is the fact that my wife doesn't play anything but bowling. She's a mario fan and since there has been no Mario title out yet she's felt left out. I downloaded Mario 64 on the virtual console but she preferes side-scrollers. So, when this title came out we bought it the first day.
She's played it more than anyone and that is a testament to how fun this game is. I'll be the first to say it's been the best game I've played on the Wii so far.
I think Nintendo realized that with the great sales of Super Mario Bros. for the DS that it's hard to beat Mario on a platform sidescroller. Everything on the game looks beautiful and the gameplay doesn't require the need to get carpel tunnel by bending over backwards to make a special move. I would recomend this game to anyone.
Great Game.

Super Paper Mario I have never played a paper Mario game before, and I was extremely impressed. While the remote is not utilized, the controls are actually very good. The storyline is very funny at times, but the writing can be lengthy. Here is what I think about SPM.
Graphics-8/10-They aren't supposed to look like Madden on the 360, and the art designers did a great job with the way the graphics are done, but the 3D backgrounds are very poor.
Controls-10/10-Despite not using motion sensing, very sturdy controls.
Gameplay-9/10-Not perfect, but very fun and simple-Unless you're trying to figure out a tricky puzzle. That's hard (but fun!!!!!)
Story/Writing-8/10-Very funny lines in some parts and a creative story, but some of the text is too long.
Challenge-7/10-The actual gameplay has little challenge, but the puzzles can be very difficult. It isn't like playing Madden on rookie, though.
Overall-9/10-The best the Wii has to offer with Zelda, so be prepared for some fun!
The things I disliked were: -LONG text in spots -Bland 3D backgrounds -A little too easy -Uses the remote's motion sensing almost never (though I personally was fine with the controls).
Everything else is great! Enjoy!

Super Paper Mario Well, after two hours of game play I gotta say that this is one FUN game. My sister bought it with her B-day money and I wasn't so sure she'd like it at first. Well, I was wrong. xD Both my sisters love it (10&6) and so do I!
The grafics are just like Paper Mario, TTYD. So thats cool! The characters are all lovable. Bowser is funny (My fave charrie) And its just a cute, funny, FUN game. Its really awesome going from 2D to 3D to! Everything looks like paper, Its really neat. The pixles are so cool to! I like the butterfly. :P
I was surprised at this, but the controlls are very easy! You hold the Wii remote sideways, and that works very well.
I've been a fan of Paper Mario64, Then Paper Mario TTYD(The thousand year door) and now this! All three are super fun. This is now one of my favorite games, I'd give it more stars if I could!
Overall, I'm very happy with this game, and my sisters like it to! :)

Super Paper Mario This is just a fun game. I enjoy it as someone who grew up playing the original Nintendo when I was a kid. I bought the Wii so that we could play games together as a family and it is a great machine to do that with. Super Paper Mario mixes the best of the old school Super Mario Bros. with the 3-D of a modern game. I love switching from 2D to 3D at the press of a button. You see things from a completely different angle and it is cool and fun. One boss is defeated by quickly switching back and forth and then hitting him when he comes close. My kids love this game and can't wait for me to get home from work so that I can play some more or watch them play. I highly recommend this game to anyone who has a Wii.

Super Paper Mario Andrew says: I have seen absolutely no reason to mark this game down. The graphics work well with the story, the gameplay is intuitive and fun, it draws you in without trapping you, and the story is really cool.
I say: This is the most interesting game since--probably Ocarina of Time. Not that there haven't been other great games, but those two seem to push the boundaries of gaming itself into new zones. With Ocarina of Time, the concept of controlling the world around with music was extremely powerful and accomplished in a way that was the perfect blend of skill and memory. It also pushed itself graphically, using motion capture for Link's animation and attempting new cinematic effects the likes of which have perhaps not been seen since. Super Paper Mario is a trip through the light fantastic, to be sure, and its flipping capabilities and puzzles mess with your perception through the entire game. Honestly, these people MUST be crazy--and geniuses--to have come up with such entertaining and fascinating visual play. A seemingly solid wall you were standing on is actually a thin pathway with twists and turns. A seemingly solid obstacle can simply be walked around! Crazy.

Super Paper Mario It's so much fun to go between 2-D and 3-D. There are different things to do, find and avoid in both dimensions. Writing and acting is fun and clever. Puzzles are very much like Zelda puzzles. I highly recommend this one!

Super Paper Mario Super Paper Mario is a game that brings back the fond memories of playing the Super Mario Bros. games from the NES days and the Super Mario World games from a console generation later. The truly unique component of SPM is that the player can flip between the two-dimensional realm and the three-dimensional realm. The player can traverse through a level in 2-D, but may need to flip to 3-D to uncover a secret tunnel or passageway that would be impossible to see from a 2-D perspective.
The gameplay is solid and carries on the core style from previous Paper Mario games. The primary difference is that there are no more classic RPG elements like turn based battles. All enemies are fought on screen in the 'Old School Mario Game' way. You'll be able to control different characters and use other abilities to help you along.
The game is full of funny and wholesome humor that really amused me. There is one particular part of the game in which the player encounters a super geek and the entire scenario is done exceptionally. All the things that make this individual who he is, from his hardcore obsessive nature, to his laptop usage, comic book collecting, and fear of females is articulated through the in-game text in a very clever way. There are many other times throughout the game where I laughed out loud because of the dialogue.
The nostalgia factor is huge here. My sister who was watching me play this game, someone who never touches a video game, actually wanted me to hand her the controller. And she played...for a good while. Why was she interested? The reason is simply that she remembers the Mario Bros. magic from two decades ago that SPM rekindles. The memories of playing the classic Mario Bros. games will come flooding back to those that play this game and remember the old days. The Nintendo charm is what truly separates this game from everything else on the market. Everything is very endearing and even the bad guys are adorable...I'm looking at you, Bowser. The level design, characters, story, music, and humor all seem fairly simple, but yet are not simple at all. They all have been soaked with quality, a quality and depth that keeps you playing and playing until the end.

Super Paper Mario Super Paper Mario has all the love and fun that was packed into the first Mario Brothers game produced, but in a fresh, yet familiar, take on the Mario franchise.
Now, any veteran of the Nintendo and Super Nintendo classic Mario games will feel that this game is at a much slower pace. While there is plenty of jump and run action, this game has many RPG elements--lots of story, items, story, puzzles, oh and story. The story itself is very strange, but if you stop to read it (instead of skipping to the action), it's actually quite amusing. Also, you'll run into levels that leave you scratching your head until you remember to flip the world somewhere or wave the remote at some wall to find the way forward. Though, this is not so bad in my opinion, because you get to play the game longer.
So, Super Paper Mario may feel somewhat like the classic Mario gameplay, but it has so much more added to it wrapped up in a funny story. Definitely a must-own game for Mario fans who have managed to snap up a Wii.
